Frequently Asked Questions
I would like a stair runner done in my house. How do I proceed?
Contact me directly and I will take your information. I will make a trip to your house to measure and go over the scope of the project. If I am selling you the carpet, I can bring samples or get information to make a return trip. From there, I will provide a good confidence estimated price. I do not bait/switch, and I do not barter on pricing. My objective is to make your project a success, whatever it takes!
I have an installer or I am an installer who is doing a project. Can you just do the binding for my project?
Yes, I have many carpet techs who bring their projects to me to be bound.
I am a designer and I have a project that I want you to do. Do you have set pricing that I can use?
The short answer is no. Most projects are unique to themselves, and require me to know what I am doing before I price it. I can give you an idea of cost, but it would need to be verified before I take the project on.
How much is a custom, hand carved rug?
Prices vary greatly depending on the complexity, the size, and several other features. Each hand carved rug is a unique piece that is specific to what you want. When doing the design for your rug, I will generally give you several options. You are in the drivers seat when it comes to pricing!
Do you pick up & deliver rugs?
Yes, there is a fee to pick up and deliver based on rug size & driving time. I can also spread your rug where it goes.
I have an area rug that is in good shape, but the binding is tattered. Can you strip it off & sew new binding on my rug?
Absolutely! Depending on the wear, it may have to be slightly resized, but I have done this service for many clients, giving their old rugs new life!
I have a rug that has a bit of damage to the serging. I would like to keep it intact, if possible. Is this something that can be repaired?
More than likely, it can be repaired, as long as the rug itself is not compromised. I have come to clients houses and found a very close fit for thief existing serging & hand-serged a damaged area on-site.
Do you sell carpet? If so, do I have to purchase my carpet through you?
Yes. I have several mill connections and many other places where I get direct pricing. I would prefer to sell the rug directly, however, if you have the carpet that you have found elsewhere, I can work with that as well. Some of my clients have found amazing remnants that they’ve fallen in love with at a great price. We would need to verify that there is enough material for your project before moving forward.
Do you sell carpet padding?
Yes. For stairs, I strongly recommend using a firm padding that will endure the foot traffic that stairs will get. The same is true for your area rug as well. The more “bouncy” a padding is, the more possible it is for the rug to wear out sooner. I also carry non-skid pad for smaller rugs. For walk-off mats, I can even adhere the non-skid to the rug and eliminate the need to constantly shift your rug over the pad.
How long will my project take to complete?
There are a couple of factors that determine this. How long it takes for the rug to arrive after it’s ordered. How complex the project it. The volume of work that is going on in the workshop at the time are all factors that can help to speed up or slow down your project. Custom work does take time, but I have found that it is well worth the wait.
